About your Blogger
Alex Fowler has been at One North East for one year now working in various roles relating to energy. He previously worked for three years at National Energy Action, the UK's leading fuel poverty charity and this subject remains close to his heart. Alex is a North Easterner through and through having lived in Newcastle during University, before returning to his native Teesside residence. He is a long-serving Middlesbrough FC supporter and has recently setup his own football team named Linthorpe Athletic Galaxy Allstars.
Why has this blog been setup?
Alex is passionate about the need to tackle climate change and provide secure energy supplies and sees this as a massive global challenge over the coming years. He is keen to engage with other like-minded individuals to explore ideas by which we can make a positive contribution towards this and also to reach out to people whyo may not see how they can not make a difference due to the size of the challenge. Alex is about to complete a Fellowship in 'Leadership for Environment and Development' and see's the blog as a great way to share the learning experience from this programme. Finally, One North East are keen to engage with stakeholders throughout the region and this blog will allow us to raise awareness of the issues and the activities currently being pursued to make a positive difference.
